Webcast on Android phones and their Accessibility

Nokia’s Symbian is the most popular mobile Operating System among the blind people around the world.  Because, Screen reader applications like Talks and Mobile speak can be installed on it & used with out barriers.  Last year Nokia had announced the stopping of Symbian phones.  Now the time to move to other platforms like Android, iPhone or blackberry. Both these 3 have its on accessibility features.  Prateek Agarwal a blind man from India is going to conduct a Webcast on Android phones and their accessibility in his website on Saturday.  Read below for more details in prateek’s words.

“The android operating system has built a massive craze  and madness
amongst the people over a few months. Low cost, incredibly rich
features, wonderful apps  in the android market,  and plenty of
options to make a choice are just some of the reason why android has
received such a huge  attention and appreciation.
In parallel to android’s vast popularity, nokia is rapidly reducing
its simbian based phones, which has   undoubtedly been the most
popular option amongst blind and visually impaired users from many
years.
This, has rung the bell amongst the blind community that if not
simbian, then what?

While there’s a wind of android everywhere, its only logical  that
blind and visually impaired users
Also flow in the breeze an feel the power of android,  but is this
really possible?
Do the android based phones  provide enough accessibility that can
allow people with blindness to use this platform?
How accessible android is?
Which phones are available to use from blindness perspective?
What all task a blind person can perform  with an android phone?
