Staff Selection Commission (SSC)

Commission will hold a Combined All India Open Examination for recruitment to the posts of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ (Non-
Gazetted ) in Pay Band 2) and Grade ‘D’ (NonTechnical) in Pay Band 1), to be recruited in various Central Government Ministries / Departments / Offices.

Vacancy Details:

• Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade „C‟ : 38 posts (UR-27, SC-01, ST-06, OBC-04) (OH-01)
• Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade „D‟ : 496 posts (UR-300, SC-62, ST-33, OBC-101) (OH-11, VH-02) (EXSM-19)

Note: Visually handicapped (VH) candidates with visual disabilities of forty percent and above can avail the assistance of Scribe to be provided by the Commission in the written examination subject to such request of scribe being made in the application form.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age: 18-27 years as on 01.08.2014. Relaxation of upper age limit is applicable as per rules.
• Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University as on 01.08.2014.

Application Fee:

Fee is Rs. 100/- payable through CRF Stamps for offline application submission. Candidates applying online should pay the fee through SBI Challan or on line payment through SBI. Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD and Ex-Service men.

Applications must be submitted only in the prescribed format either by post within 27.06.2014 upto 5PM (upto 03.07.2014 upto 5PM For the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya,
Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and
Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad).
