Banking major State Bank of India dedicated its 5555 the Talking ATM to the nation on the occasion of State Bank Day on 1st July 2014. This was inaugurated by Smt. Anshula Kant, DMD (Operations - National Banking) at Wodehouse Road Branch, Colaba, Mumbai.
Other top SBI executives present on the occasion were ShriSudhirDubey, CGM, Mumbai Circle ShriPrashant Kumar, CGM (NW - I), ShriPremVerma, GM, Alternate Channels, Corporate Center, Mumbai, ShriDibakarMohanty, GM(NW- III), ShriHardayal Prasad, GM (NW-ll)and Ms.VineetRastogi,DGM(B&0-l). The Talking ATM enables visually challenged customers of any bank to carry out ATM transactions through voice guidance.
To begin with, the three most important functions viz. cash withdrawal,balance enquiry and PIN change facility are available over voice guidance in two language options viz. English and Hindi.

Union Bank of India was the first Public sector bank introduced the Talking ATM in India. City Bank also have some Talking ATMs in some places.
