Employment Notice No. 2/2012 (Open market) DTD 27.09.12 Filling up of posts in pay band-1, Grade pay 1800/

Western Railway invites applications from eligible bonafide citizens of India and from such other persons declared eligible by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India for filling up of 2249 Posts in Pay Band-I of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1800/- from OPEN MARKET for its Division(s) and Workshop(s).

Vacancy Details:

• Group-D : 2249 posts (UR-1136, OBC-608, SC-341, ST-164)
  Pay Scale : Rs. 5200-20200/- Grade pay of Rs. 1800/-.

 

• Gangman/Trackman : 590 posts (Not suitable for PH)
• Helper (Engg., S&T, Mech., Elect) : 963 posts (Suitable for LV, HH, OA, OL & BL)
• Helper (Stores) : 27 posts (Suitable for LV, HH, OA, OL & BL)
• Platform Porter : 238 posts (Not suitable for PH)
• Safaiwala (Medical, Mechanical, Commercial) : 345 posts (Suitable for LV, HH & OL)
• Safaiwala (Cleaner, Gen. Admin, Accounts) : 30 posts (Suitable for LV, HH OA & OL)
• Waiter & Cleaner / Commercial Catering : 56 posts (Not suitable for PH)

Eligibility:

• Age: 18-33 years as on 01.01.2013. The upper age will be relaxed for reserved categories as per rules, subject to production of requisite certificates.
• Educational Qualification: 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent. Candidates who are appearing at and/or awaiting results of final examination of class 10th on the last date of downloading of application are not eligible to apply. Academic qualification must be from a recognized Educational Institution / Board/University, otherwise candidature shall be rejected. Candidates having higher educational qualification may also apply.

Examination Fee:

Rs. 40/- for General and OBC categories, to be paid in the nearest STATE BANK of INDIA branch only by a Fee payment challan which can be downloaded from RRC’s website only from PRINT CHALLAN FORM link after filling their online registration number and date of birth. After downloading the application and the Challan, candidates should deposit the fee only on the next working day or any subsequent day after 1130 hrs only by presenting to the Bank the original Challan form. Bank will charge a nominal amount for the transaction which is already mentioned in the challan form. RRC copy of Challan form duly certified by the Bank Authority must accompany the application with Fee Details column in the application properly filled by the candidate. Xerox copy of the challan shall not be accepted. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, Women candidates, minorities and economically backward classes having income less than Rs 50,000/- p.a are fully exempt from payment of examination fees.

How To Apply:

Applications can be downloaded from the RRC’s website upto 10.11.2012 23:59 hrs (preferably using Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox/Google Chrome Browser) after filling in basic details. Since each downloaded application shall have its unique registration number, it may be noted that applications submitted in any other format shall not be accepted. After filling the details on the site, candidates will be informed if their application has been accepted or not. For all accepted applications a UNIQUE REGISTRATION NUMBER shall be generated which the candidates need to use for printing the application from the print application link, challan form (if required) from print challan link and for any future reference with RRC. The downloaded application from our website with its unique registration number may be sent by ordinary post to Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway, Parcel Depot, Alibhai Premji Road, Grant Road, Mumbai-400 007 or dropped in the Application Box kept in the RRC office, on or before 24.11.2012 17:00 hrs. The last date will be 07.12.2012 17:00 hrs for the candidates from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshwadeep Islands, North Eastern States, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district and Panji sub division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh. Applications received after closing date and time shall not be entertained. The envelope containing the application should be clearly superscribed "Application for posts in Pay Band-I of Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay of 1800 - Western Railway".
