Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) September 2013 Notification

In accordance with the provisions of subsection(1) of section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August 2010, had laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. The Government of Kerala has decided to extent the TET up to class X teachers. It had been inter-alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that she/he should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the guidelines framed by NCTE.

Categories:

The tests will be for four categories - Category I, Category II , Category III &
Category IV. All individuals, who possess minimum educational qualifications as delineated for each category, are eligible to appear the tests. The test is for:
  • Category I: Those who intends to be a teacher for Lower Primary classes and fulfills the minimum educational qualification.
  • Category II: Those who intends to be a teacher for Upper Primary classes and fulfills the minimum qualification.
  • Category III: Those who intends to be a teacher for High School classes and fulfils the minimum qualification.
  • Category IV: Those who intends to be a language teacher up to Upper Primary classes and fulfills the minimum qualification. For Specialist teachers and Physical Education
    teachers, K-TET is applicable up to High School level.

Examination Fee:

Rs. 500/- for General & OBC candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC, ST & Differently Abled candidates for each categories of examinations. Candidates have to remit the Exam Fee in cash in the Account number and name specified in the notification in favour of the Director, SCERT, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram at the select branches of State Bank of Travancore by using a system generated payment challan.

How To Apply:

Candidates can apply online between 08.08.2013 and 24.08.2013.
Step 1: Log on to the official website of Pareeksha Bhavan at www.keralapareekshabhavan.in, click on 'K-TET 2013' and click on 'K-TET Chalan Form'. Fill in the required details, click on ‘Submit’, take the print out of the chalan and remit the amount in the selected branch of SBT.
Step 2: After remitting the amount, log on to the official website of Pareekshabhavan again, click on 'K-TET 2013’ and click on 'K-TET Online Application Form'. Fill the required details and upload your photograph. Take a print out of the uploaded application form and keep it with you for future reference. Print out of the application form and copy of the certificates need not be sent to Pareeksha Bhavan.
